January Favourites

This month I haven't got that many favourites to share, however the ones I chose to show you are absolutely great. My skin looked and still looks quite bad these weeks, that is why I don't have any skin care products featured this month.
But, let me introduce you to my January loves:
This month, I rediscovered NYC's matte bronzer. I love everything about, besides the packaging. But what can you expect from a £2-3 bronzer? It does the job, the shade is perfect for warming up and giving yourself a more lively and summery look in winter.
It is matte and the shade is Sunny.
And I find that this bronzer brush from Ecotools works like a magic wand with it.

Next, is an eyeshadow which I think represents me really well,if I were an eyeshadow this would be me in a pan. haha
It is an Estee Lauder matte eyeshadow in Wild Sable. I would describe it as an ashy brown, while on the lid, and it has a velvety smooth consistency. I really want to get more Estee Lauder make up, these past months I've been really drawn to this brand.

This product(Benetint by Benefit(sorry the name is rubbed off ))was created for me, you can say whatever you want but I believe that, truly. No, I don't, but I'm in love with it, the colour, the thing that it is subtle and also the fact that you can use it as a blusher. This what makes it one of my favourites.
It looks like a nail polish, however I really like the design of it, it makes application be so quick and easy.

And the last, but not my least favourite is a Barry M nail polish...
...in 318 Peach Melba. It is a light, creamy peach colour. I love how it changes in different kinds of light from a white in some, to almost a neon peachy pink in others. Barry M polishes are my favourites(I think I have 8 of them), the quality is really good, I love the colours and also the packaging is quite simple, but nice.
Thanks for stopping by,
Focus on the quiet

Mac lipstick in See Sheer

Hey,guys! Today I'll be reviewing a product which was raved about all over the world, a Mac lipstick. These are known for their variety of colours, textures and finishes. In my collection, I have only two Mac lip products: a lipstick, which is what I'm reviewing today and a lipglass. (the review will come later)
If you ask me why I don't have more Mac lipsticks as they are so popular and good, I'll say it's the price. I'm sorry, but I just can not justify myself a £13.50 lipstick. I think there are similar or even better lipsticks in drugstores for a half price. But I've bought the two that I have just out of curiosity, so let's see what I have to say.

All my thoughts on the lipstick are positive.
It has a subtle vanillary smell, which I very much enjoy.
The finish of the See Sheer lipstick is lustre, which means that it is glossy and moisturising.
It lasts on my lips for about 2 hours.
It is a light, wearable coral, it is an alternative for those who want to wear coral, but are afraid of those orangy-red bold lips.

MaxFactor lipstick in Ruby Tuesday

There is always that chase for the perfect red Marilyn lip, however turns out Monroe's make up artist used about 5 different shades of red lipstick to get that full shape and perfect colour. So, here you go an excuse to buy another red lipstick to your existing collection or start a new one if you don't have any!
Also, a thing which might make you feel more like Marilyn, is the fact that some sources say, MaxFactor was one of her favourite make up brands.
In this post, I'll present you MaxFactor's Ruby Tuesday, a bright red lipstick which recently became one of my favourites.
Let's start with the packaging...
In my view, for a drugstore lipstick the design is quite good, all the lipsticks from this particular collection have a gold cap and the bottom represents the actual colour of the lipstick, which is useful to find when in hurry.
A thing that I like is the X carved on the lipstick ,which makes it look more professional and unique.
And now on to the product itself, I think it is a great lipstick and a shade which would suit a lot of skintones. It is moisturising and smooth on application, I wouldn't be bothered applying a lip balm before it. It is quite glossy as you can see in the picture, but is highly pigmented.
I usually dab it onto my lips with my ring finger first and then apply a full layer of lipstick on.
The lipstick retails in drugstores for £7.99.

Dior Bronzer in 003 Amber Matte

Back in December I had this product on my Christmas wishlist and now I am the proud and grateful(to my boyfriend<3) owner of this beautiful Dior bronzer.
I'll show you some pictures:
It comes in this velvety pouch, which looks really chic, when it's new and clean. Mine is a bit dusty from all the travelling this month, but I'll clean it,promise.
This is the most beautiful compact I've seen, the colour and the design is just so classy and at the same has a 'modern woman' twist.
This is the back of the compact with the full name and colour of the bronzer. A thing that seemed interesting to me is that it is water-resistant, however not had the chance to try that yet.

And here it is the actual product. In my view, it has more ashy undertones to it, it doesn't look orangey at all. If you have a medium skin tone, I think this shade would suit you perfectly.

Also, a good thing about this bronzer, is the SPF of 20 which is always good to have in your products.

Body Time!

I don't know why but it seems to me that sharing with all of you my bath and body essentials is like an intimate thing. However, I'll give you a glimpse of the products I use in order to keep my body moist and ready for the cold-frosty winter.
The idea behind a beautiful looking skin is Exfoliate - Cleanse - Moisturise. And that's the 'concept' I'm trying to follow so far.
So, the first step is to Exfoliate your skin. I use a Sanctuary Body Scrub, which smells just fantastic. It has notes of grapes and cranberry. One thing I really love about this particular body scrub is that the beads are actual crushed fruit seeds.
I'm not sure if this particular Sanctuary Body Scrub is available now in the stores, because I bought it earlier in a sale. But I'm sure any other Sanctuary scrub will be just as good. Sanctuary is a brand which mainly focuses on spa products and I want to try, like everythiiiiing!

Next thing to do is Cleansing!
In the past, all I looked for in a shower gel was the smell. I prefer most of all, fruity scents, somehow they make me feel full of energy and it's like summer in a bottle.
Lately, I've been enjoying the Body Shop's shower gels, not only they have a big variety of smells but are the most moisturising gels I've tried so far. I'm now using the Papaya one and next is Passionfruit. I also have the matching body butters.
And here it is the Papaya Body Butter, which is a part of the moisturising step.
Do not have much to say about it, it is good but it is not the best body butter out there. I am still in search for the perfect body moisturiser that would really change the way my skin looks and feels. Any good recommendations?

So, at the end of the day, all I have to say it is your body, no one will take care of it other than you.

Revlon lip products collection

I've been really bad this week for not posting anything on my blog, buuuut I've got an excuse. I've been travelling and my luggage was lost. What else do I have to say, besides that when you lose your luggage all the other troubles get to you. But it's all good now. I got it back and everything is coming to it's usual state. So is my blog.

Today I'll share with you my Revlon lip products collection. Two creme and two matte lipsticks and one lip gloss in my collection. But more to come as I really really like the quality and the fact that you can find them on ebay for half price.

And these are the swatches(promise to get better with these):

My favourites are Strawberry Suede(matte) and Blackberry(creme). I think they suit my skin tone better than the other ones.

Two of my favourite Make up Trends of all time!

Today, I thought I'd share two of my favourite make up trends. These are really easy to follow and they seem   to suit everyone.
The first trend I'm absolutely in love with is Spidery lashes+Vampy lips.
It was seen on the catwalk of Gucci's F/W 2011 collection.

As you can see from the pictures all you really need is an even skin tone(foundation, concealer and for some-powder), spidery lashes(a mascara, about 3-4 coats of it) and a well defined vampy lip(a red/dark red/burgundy/dark brown lipstick-the colour which you think suits you best, depending on your skin tone).

Tip: If you like this trend but are afraid of a dark lip, replace the dark lipstick with a lip stain like Benetint by Benefit or Korres lip butters.

Second trend is Matchy Matchy Make up.
This is when your lipstick matches your nail, cheek or eyeshadows colour or all of them at once.
Or your eye make up matches your dress. There are a lot of options. The main rule is that a colour should match another.
Here are some examples:

I think this trend will always in fashion, it represents a good taste and a harmony between the way you dress and do your make up.

Tip: Don't overload yourself when it's about bright colours. Keep it chic!

Nyx Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone

We all want our eyeshadows to look true to their pan colour and stay for the whole night without creasing. Eyeshadow bases make that possible.
These also help to conceal your eyelids and make them look more even.
This post is dedicated to Nyx Eyeshadow base in the shade Skin Tone. It also comes in Pearl and White.

To show you how it works I used a MUA eyeshadow  in shade 19(which I use for my brows) without a base(left) and with Nyx Eyeshadow base(right)
I don't know how else can I convince you that this really works.
